Rationale for Religious studies

"The religious studies course has two parts in order to prepare students to teach either Bible Knowledge or Religious Education. The course addresses human understanding of God and how and why people worship. Both Christianity and multi-faith approaches address the important role played by the spiritual dimension of a religious life and how it impacts on the physical, mental, social and moral development of the child. Student teachers will have the opportunity to discuss the responses of people of faith to the key issues facing Malawi, such as HIV/AIDS, poverty, conflict, human rights and animal rights. religious studies through Bible Knowledge and Religious Education should also assist both students and pupils in thir own personal search for meaning and purpose to life."
